James E. Wiley

James Wiley age 86 of Xenia, Ohio died on October 20, 2025 after an extended illness. At his request, no services will be held.

He was born on April 6, 1939 in Naoma, West Virginia to Charles E. and Arizona Wiley, both of whom preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Janice (Wiseman) Wiley. Also surviving are his daughter Debbie (Jamie) Wroe of Davenport, Florida and son Todd (Debby) Wiley of Wallingford, Kentucky. Also surviving are granddaughters, Lindsey Wroe of Davenport, Florida, Caroline Wroe of Columbus, Ohio, Kara Schwartz of Lexington, Kentucky and Katherine Bjoraas of Omaha, Nebraska. Also great grandchildren Kamryn and Kaysen of Columbus, Ohio, Una and Eli of Lexington, Kentucky and Maxwell of Omaha, Nebraska. James is also survived by brothers, Norman Wiley and Jerry Wiley of Jackson, Ohio, Shelby Wiley of Orlando, Florida and sister Phyllis Ridge of Jackson, Ohio. Several nephews and nieces also survive.

James graduated from Jackson High School, Jackson, Ohio with the class of 1958 and attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. In 1960 he joined the U.S. Army stationed at Ft Monmouth, New Jersey and also did a tour in Korea, being honorably discharged in 1963.

After the Army he returned to Jackson where he met his wife Janice, later moving to Xenia where he launched his career at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio where he was a scientific photographer in the Foreign Technology Division retiring from there after 29 years.
