James Edward (Jim) Sullivan was born March 18, 1953, to Joseph J. And Margaret L. (Jones) Sullivan of Dayton, Ohio. He departed this life May 14, 2026, after battling several health issues. He lived life on his own terms, graduating from Chaminade High School and achieving a bachelor's degree in psychology from Wright State University. Not long after, he moved to Houston, Texas, where he easily embraced the local culture, and owned and operated a printing business. There he met and married the love of his life, Phyllis Rochester, with whom he enjoyed not only fishing from the beach of Galveston Island but shooting pool competitively. He enjoyed the work of W. C. Fields and old movies of which his favorite was clearly Mel Brooks' "Young Frankenstein". He will be lovingly remembered for his quick wit, intelligence, devilishness, and ready smile.
He is survived by four sisters, Mary (Henry) Ernst, Sharon (Bob) Price, Janet (Dana) Estep, and Patricia Sullivan Fague; and one brother Chuck (Paula) Sullivan. He is also survived by his Aunt Joan and many cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as friends in Houston.
His family would like to extend their deep appreciation to his skillful and attentive care teams at both Kettering Health Main Campus as well as Ohio's Hospice.
