James "Steven" Masters, age 67 of Springfield, OH, formerly of Beavercreek, passed away peacefully and entered his Heavenly home on Saturday, 07 February 2026, at Versailles Rehab & Healthcare Center, surrounded by his loving family. Born on 07 August 1958, he was the eldest son of James R. and Judith A. (Ellison) Masters of Beavercreek, OH.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Jeffrey, Michael, and Anthony; and his first grandson, Enzo James Wagner.

Steven is survived by his two beautiful daughters, whom he loved deeply and who truly were the center of his world - Chelsey N. Masters of Springfield, OH, and Shannon M. (Bryce) Wagner of Vandalia, OH. He leaves behind a growing family, including a second grandson who will be welcomed into the family in the coming months.

He built a proud career spanning more than 35 years in the collision/autobody repair industry, where his skill, dedication, and steady work ethic earned the respect of everyone who knew him. Outside the shop, he was an avid NASCAR fan with a lifelong loyalty to Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr., rarely missing a race. He also had a deep love for country music, and it was through country-western dance events that he met Bambi (Sirks) Masters, whom he married in 1994.  As the mother of his children and one of his closest friends, she remained as one of his sources of support and strength until the very end. For several years, he was actively involved with the Central States Horse Show Association, competing nearly every weekend and forming lasting friendships along the way.

A Celebration of Life will be held, allowing out-of-town family and friends the opportunity to join us in honoring Steven Masters. Details will be shared once arrangements are finalized. His children would be grateful for your presence and warmly welcome any stories or memories you wish to share about their father.

For those who wish, the family asks that donations in Steven's memory be made to Hospice of Dayton, whose compassion and support brought comfort to him and to those who loved him throughout his time at Versailles.
