James Ezra “Jim” Salyers, age 93, of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family’s love.
Born in Kentucky, Jim later moved to Portsmouth and then Dayton, where he built a life rooted in hard work, love and devotion to family.
After the passing of his first wife, Bobbie Ann (Burchett), he married Dorothy Loretta (Brown) in 1965 and together they raised four children, Lynn, Sharon, Eric, and Matthew.
An avid fisherman, hunter and gardener, Jim found peace in the outdoors and joy in life’s simple pleasures.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta; his siblings and many dear friends.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Mike, Terry and Kameron; three grandchildren, Joshua, Corey and Ethan; and one great-grandson, Ezra, who carries his name.
A private family gathering will be held to celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers or cards, please plant some green beans and grow some roses in his memory.
