James Merritt Ruckman

James Merritt Ruckman, age 78, of Fairborn, Ohio passed away on December 27, 2024.

Jim was a lover of nature and hard work, the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds, writers Kurt Vonnegut and Stephen King. He was a man with a gruff exterior and a sensitive core. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Myra Miller of Fairborn, Ohio; father James Ruckman Sr. of LaRue, Ohio and mother Mildred Ruckman (Hecker) of Waldo, Ohio.

He is survived by his brother Robert Ruckman of Beavercreek, Ohio; step daughter Cecelia Miller-Lucas and step granddaugher Katie Malone, both of Fairborn, Ohio. 

Jim attended both The Ohio State University and Wright State University. After four years in the United States Air Force in the 1970's, Jim became a self-employed farmer in Phillipsburg, Ohio.

Family will be celebrating his life in private.
