James H. Richey, Jr., age 84 of Centerville, passed away Nov. 2, 2017. He was born Jan. 9, 1933 in Central City, KY to James H. Richey, Sr. and Etta Louise (Dobbs) Richey. He graduated from Kiser High School (Dayton) in 1951, served in the U.S. Navy for two years and then graduated from Sinclair Community College. He worked for, and retired from, Whirlpool Corporation.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Phyllis (Leasure); together they would spend many wonderful years living and working in Greenville, OH. He is also survived by his son, Jimmy, and daughters, Sharee Milrot and Karin Richey; stepmother, Virginia Richey; stepbrothers, Doug (Chris) Buvinger and Brad (Judith) Buvinger; and grandsons, Jason Richey and Shawn and Bradley O'Connor. He was predeceased by his son, Michael.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Cross Church, 1924 Leo St. in Dayton, at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 13. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45404.
