James Raymond "Jim" Poling

James “Jim” Poling, age 62, of Fairborn, OH, passed away on July 8, 2026. He was born on June 14, 1964, in Dayton, OH, the son of Bruce and Trudy (Wagner) Poling. He remained in Dayton until 2025 when he relocated to Fairborn.

He was preceded in death by both parents; his wife, Sara (Grove) Poling; and sister, Theresa Hafle.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Stephen (Robyn) Poling; brother-in-law, Daniel Hafle; nephews, Philip (Beth) Hafle and Robert (Taylor) Poling; nieces, Danielle Hafle, Juli (Jacob) Ross, Madalyn Jenkins and Katherine Jenkins; and great-niece, Lela Poling. He also leaves numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends to mourn his passing.

Jim retired as a teacher where he taught hundreds of prisoners in the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. In his free time, he enjoyed watching baseball (especially his beloved Cincinnati Reds,) and going to movies and concerts. He loved animals, especially dogs of any breed and size. Jim had the ability to see the best in people, no matter what. He will be terribly missed by those who loved him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
