James A. Mouse, age 87, of Beavercreek, passed away with his family at his side on March 22, 2026. James was born in Elkins, West Virginia on January 16, 1939 to the late Guy and Esther Mouse.

James was preceded in death by his parents; as well as his siblings, Guy Jr., Nellie, Blaine, Wayne, Tom and John Victor.

He is survived by loving wife, Sandra Mouse; daughters, Jodi Boggs and Maria Durbin; siblings, Nancy Mouse, Ray Mouse and Patti Shifflet; as well as his grandchildren, Cullen Durbin, Keely Romero, Hannah Jelinek and Kiali Jelinek.

James retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base after many years.

In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, playing the guitar and singing. He was a very thrifty shopper.

James was a caring husband, father and grandfather. He was always full of energy, had a bright personality and a great smile.

There will be a graveside service with military honors on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Dayton National Cemetery (4400 W Third St, Dayton) at 2:00pm.

James will be laid to rest following the graveside.
