James Meeker

James L. "Jim" Meeker, age 67, of Dayton, passed away February 25, 2024. He was born June 24, 1956 at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Meeker; step-son, Chad Gibson; granddaughter, Elizabeth Katherine and several brothers and sisters.

Jim is survived by his wife of 35 years, Debby Meeker; children: Shawn Meeker, Stephanie Matheney (Scott) and Shannon Stark (Kirby); 4 grandchildren: Ashley Gibson, Amy Gibson, Autumn Manning and Leo Stark; 4 great-granddaughters; several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt Bonnie and brothers-in-law: Robby Mumford and Mark Stunich (Cindy).

Jim worked for Goodyear Tire in Dayton for 25 years. He was an avid race fan, enjoyed wood-working, but most of all he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Jim was a great friend who was always there when needed.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the memorial service will begin at 3:00 pm. Contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society or to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
