James R. Lewis

James Russell "Bud" Lewis, age 94 of Somerset, KY, went home to be with his Heavenly Father, Saturday, February 17, 2024. He was born July 26, 1929 in Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Chester and Ida Lewis. James was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church in Somerset, KY. He lived a life of service to God and was a Pastor at various churches since 1972 in Dayton, Georgia, and Kentucky. James retired from Dayton Tire and Rubber after 27 years as a tire builder. He enjoyed woodworking and he always liked to work in his yard. James and his wife Shirley kept a garden for many years and cherished time spent outside on the back porch. What made him happiest was spending time with his family. James was a proud great-great-pappaw. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by the Love of his life and Wife of 55 years, Shirley Lewis; his Parents; Great-Grandchild, Grace; 4 Sisters; and 2 Brothers.

James is survived by his Daughters, Jenny Lewis, Janet (Roger) Wilmoth, Ronda Lewis, Ruth (Bill) Young; Granddaughters, Amy (Mike), Kerry (Luke), Kelly (Josh), Alanna (Ben), Brittany (Aaron), Tiffany; Grandsons, Danny (Melanie), Kevin (Julie), Stephen (Karen), Michael, Aaron (Alison); Great-Grandchildren, Michael (Lorrayne), Hannah, Stephen, Dion, Timothy, Jacob, Andrew, Maddie, Hope, Elizabeth, Sarah, McKenzie, Declan, Zieke, Noah, Micah, LJ, Hadley, John, Brooks, Sydney, Aaron, Willa, Sam; Great-Great-Grandchildren, Austin, Greyson, Whitney; Special Friend, Emmett Lanham; and by numerous other family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30PM, Monday, February 26th, at Newcomer Funeral Home - Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, OH 45459). A Visitation will be held from 12:00PM until the time of the service at 1:30PM. Interment following at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
