James "Jim" Rhoads, went home to be with the Lord on November 23, 2025, in Trotwood, Ohio. Born on December 31, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio, Jim was a man who dedicated his life to his faith, family, and his community.

For many years, Jim worked as a press operator at Standard Register, where he became a trusted fixture before retiring. Those who knew him fondly referred to him as Mr. Nubbs, a nickname that reflects his unique personality—funny, sweet, and a bit ornery, he had a way of telling it like it was that endeared him to everyone around him.

A Christian man at heart, Jim was known for his unwavering faith and his commitment to his church, being an active and faithful member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church. Amongst his many passions, he loved singing, especially at church, and could often be found strumming his guitar. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, like boating and vacationing with his family. Jim was a supporter and fan of the Cleveland Browns, because "somebody had to." Besides football, he had a great affection for NASCAR.

Jim is survived by his devoted daughters, Karen Abney and Krista (Bo) Compton, along with his beloved granddaughters, Jami (Carl) Holbrook and Kaiden Compton. He is also remembered by several nieces and nephews and numerous other family members and lifelong friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 wonderful years, Maxine L. Rhoads, his brother David Rhoads and his sister Ruth Carbaugh.

Jim's memories will continue to bring smiles and laughter to those who were fortunate enough to share in his life. His down-to-earth demeanor and loving nature made a profound impact, reminding us all of the importance of family, faith, and good humor.

Service information will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
