Dr. James L. Entner was born to Dr. Charles and Frances Entner who were serving as medical missionaries in a leper colony. He then grew up in Connersville, Indiana with siblings John, Don, Ruth, and Paul. He energetically participated in, and excelled in academics, a variety of sports, and extracurricular activities throughout his school years.
While studying at Cedarville College with the future goal of medical school in mind, he met Esther Weiss, who became his lovely bride and wife for the remaining 59 years of his life. He graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Indiana in 1965, and completed his internship at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio in 1968. Jim and Esther raised sons Tim, Jeff, and Todd while serving for about 30 years In fledgling hospitals and churches in the Philippines, training and encouraging Filipinos to serve and lead those ministries.
After the turn of the century, Jim and Esther served in similar capacities in five more countries, with the most recent decade spent living in China. With his health gradually declining, Jim and Esther moved back to Cedarville, Ohio in 2020. He had the blessing of passing away to join his heavenly father on Father's day, June 20th, 2021.
Thank you so much for being with us today to celebrate his life!

Jim's favorite promises to celebrate our future hope:
We shall all be changed - in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. When the last trumpet sounds, the dead will be raised. And then we will all be changed into transformed bodies that will never die! - I Cor. 15:52
The Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a shout of command, the voice of the archangel, and the trumpet call of God. The dead in Christ will rise first. Then those who are alive will be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air. And so, we will always be with the Lord. - I Thes. 4:16,17
Let us rejoice and be glad and give honor and glory to the Lord! For the time of the marriage of the Lamb has come and the bride has made herself ready. - Rev. 19:7
