James "Jim" E. Marsh

James "Jim" Marsh, age 82 of Dayton, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on September 20, 2026. He was born on June 5, 1944 in Knoxville, Tennessee. The son of the late Charles and Annie Marsh (Varnes).

They moved to Ohio in 1955. Jim attended Meadowdale High School class of 1963. He met and married the love of his life Barbara "Sue" Marsh on June 13, 1964.

Jim had many hobbies and interest including car racing, antique trucks and cars, stone hunting, and traveling. He especially enjoyed traveling to the Smoky Mountains. Jims pride and joy was his family.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Anna Marie; brothers, Billy and Chuck.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara "Sue"; sons, Eric (Kim) and Charlie (Stephanie); daughter, Julie; grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony, Erika, Alton (Jessie), Katelin, Sophie, Samantha, Jason, Michael (Ashley), Tyler, Stephanie, Devin (Krystina), Tyson (Kristi), Nate, Payton, and Jordan; great grandchildren, Cason, Braxton, Woodlee, Matthew, Brysonn, Avery, Russell, Maleia, Kali, Kamron, Zack, Theodore, and Dallas; sisters, Glenna (Wayne) and Cindy (Michael); sister-in-law, Debbie; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026 from 5-6pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A celebration of life will begin at 6pm.
