James Carl Jamerson, age 59 of Trotwood passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 29, 2018. James was born on September 1, 1958 to proud parents, Betty Jo Thomason and Robert Anderson. James graduated from Jefferson High School in 1976. He went on to earn his degree from Bowling Green University. He then went on to work for Cincinnati Quality Care for many years. James was a caring and compassionate man, which was evident in his passion for care-giving for his family.
In his free time, James enjoyed fishing and playing music. He was a talented musician and singer. He also enjoyed watching sports and cheering on his favorite teams. James was a caring, loving, and kind husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his grandparents, Deacon L.C. and Fannie Mae Collier; step-father, Thomas Thomason; and sister, Elsie Chambers.
James leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife of 19 years, Sonovia Jade Jamerson; children, Elder Jamar Jamerson, Jarell Jamerson, James Jamerson Jr., Nakiesha (Chaise) Barnes, and Durelle (Jasmine) Fields; siblings, Darrell (Elaine) Jamerson, Dedra (Henry) Holloway, and Robinette Anderson; first wife and friend, Jocelyn McGuire; special sister-cousin, Joyce Martin; grandchildren, Jordan, Chaise, Elijah, Tyler, Skylar, and Seven; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life and Home Going for James will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 12pm at The Inspiration Church (2900 Philadelphia Dr Dayton, OH 45405) Family will receive friends and loved ones for one hour prior to service (11am-12pm).
