James Carl "Jim" Denton, age 92, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. James was born in St. Charles, Virginia, on October 27, 1933, the son of the late James and Blanche Denton.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force, later retiring from Wright Patterson Air Force Base. James enjoyed watching sports, as he was an avid fan of the University of Tennessee, the Green Bay Packers, and the L.A. Dodgers. His beloved dog Ginger would often be perched by his side to spectate with him. He also enjoyed birdwatching, spending time with family, and would spend time volunteering at church after his retirement.
He is survived by son, Jeff Denton; daughter, Valerie K. Denton; cherished grandchildren, Bradley Curtis (Bailey), Amanda Brown (Blake) and Kayla Brown; great-grandson, William Buerkle; as well as several nieces and nephews whom he adored.
He is preceeded in death by Judith Denton, his wife of 59 years; as well as his sisters, Billie Hall and Joanne Lawson.
He will be greatly missed by his family, who love him very much.
James will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio at a later date.
