James Michael Bowser, affectionately known as Mike, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 12, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, Mike’s life was marked by dedication, kindness, and a warmth that touched everyone who knew him.
A proud graduate of Brookville High School’s Class of 1967, Mike embarked on a fulfilling career with the United States Postal Service, where he faithfully served for 33 years before retiring. His commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family and the genuine care he showed to those around him.
Mike was known for his engaging personality—his sense of humor brought joy and laughter, while his kind and caring nature made him a steadfast friend and confidant. He had a special affection for his cats, lovingly tending to their needs, and a passion for travel that took him to beautiful places such as Hawaii and Italy. He also enjoyed spending time talking on the phone, maintaining close connections with family and friends near and far.
He is survived by his cherished wife of 51 years, Lorna; his devoted daughter, Beth Bowser; and his son, Bradley Bowser, along with Bradley’s wife, Trish. Mike was a proud grandfather to David and Kevin Bowser. He is also remembered fondly by his siblings: Debbie Deisher, David Thomas Bowser and his wife Lori, Carol Bowser, and Jeffrey Bowser. Alongside these immediate family members, many others who loved him deeply mourn his passing.
Mike’s parents, Herman and Maxine Bowser, preceded him in death. Though he has left this world, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Mike's life was a testament to friendship, love, and dedication—a legacy that will continue to inspire and comfort all who were blessed to know him.
