Jacquelyn May (Cain) Dawson was born December 3, 1927 in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania to Orville and Savilla Cain. She passed away May 28, 2025 at the age of 97 in Dayton, Ohio.
Jackie grew up in rural Pennsylvania, attended a one-room school, and graduated from Easton High School. She continued her education at Franklin Institute in Philadelphia and the University of Dayton and worked for several Dayton medical practices over the years. She was an accomplished musician and seamstress.
Jackie married the love of her life, Greg Dawson, June 22, 1973. She was very devoted to her family and enjoyed traveling the U.S. and overseas with her husband. Jackie was a devout Christian and a faithful member of The Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Oakwood, Ohio.
Jackie is survived by husband, C. Greg Dawson; daughter, Patricia Gould Ritchie (Terry); son, John Gould Jr. (Judith); and step-daughter Lisa Gallion as well as 9 grandchildren – Timothy Erwin (Patricia), Michael Erwin (Michele), Jay Thomas (Amber), Aaron Gould (Jenny), Gabriel Erwin (Kami), Isaac Gould (Christy), Mary Hollst (Todd), Sarah Jankowski (Christopher) and Ronnie Gallion (Alexis); along with many great-grandchildren and dear friend Donnie Millar.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lutheran Social Services or Hospice of Dayton.
A memorial service will be held (time TBD) at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior 155 E. Thruston Blvd, Oakwood, Ohio on 6/27/2025. Interment at David's Cemetery in Kettering, Ohio.
