Jackie S. Hawkins

May 11, 1944 — July 12, 2025

West Carrollton, Ohio

Jackquelyn Sue Hawkins, affectionately known as Jackie, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, leaving behind a profound legacy of love and kindness. Born on May 11, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio, Jackie's vibrant spirit shone brightly throughout her life, touching the hearts of everyone she encountered.

A proud graduate of West Carrollton High School, Class of 1962, Jackie dedicated over three decades of service to Miami Valley Hospital, retiring after 31 years. Her commitment to helping others did not end with retirement. She returned as a consultant, playing a pivotal role in the selection of the property for what is now Miami Valley South Hospital, showcasing her unwavering dedication to her community.

Jackie was the loving wife of Bailey for an incredible 62 years, their bond a testament to enduring love. Together, they built a beautiful home from the ground up, a sanctuary filled with warmth and joy. Their family was blessed with three children: Jay (Tena) Hawkins, Amy (Scott) Howe, and Brad (Neely) Hawkins, each of whom knew that they had a remarkable mother always standing by them. Jackie reveled in the joy of being a mom and grandma, creating cherished memories with her 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, often enjoying long afternoons by the pool, laughter echoing in the sun-soaked air.

Jackie's personality was as big as her heart; she was kind, loving, hospitable, generous, and welcoming to anyone who visited their home. To Jackie, truly no one was a stranger. Her infectious spirit extended to her hobbies as well. She found solace in sailing and being on the water, relishing the freedom of the waves, and spending time with her family. Her love for the beach was evident, as was her ability to make any moment special for those around her.

Her family also remembers the warmth of her brother, Gary (Judy) Haines, as they hold onto the precious memories they shared. They will forever cherish the legacy Jackie leaves behind, drawing upon her examples of love and generosity.

As we reflect on Jackie’s life, we remember her not just for her accomplishments, but for the countless small acts of kindness that radiated from her being. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Hazel Asbury; grandfather, Ben Hudgins; father, Jack Haines; mother, Bettye Greene; and sister, Linda Puls. While her absence will be profoundly felt, her spirit will continue to guide her loving family, reminding them of the importance of love, connection, and kindness in every moment.
