Jacklyn E. Kowal, age 84 of Dayton, was called home by God on October 6, 2020. She enters eternal life to join her beloved husband John, to whom she was married for 50 years.
Jackie was born on September 27, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Curtis and Florence Freeland.
Jackie is survived by her sons: Francis Kowal (Kim), David Kowal (Karen), Richard Kowal (Julie) and Joseph Kowal; 5 grandchildren: Joan and Thomas Kowal, Chris Buschur, Brian Buschur (Vanessa) and Anthony Weese; many great-grandchildren; brother, Allan Freeland; sister, Edythe Bleything; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Dusty.
Jackie worked at Grandview Hospital for many years. She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. Jackie was a resident at Friendship Village. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning, baking and fishing. Jackie was known for her delicious jellies and jams.
Visitation will be held from 9:45 - 10:25 am on Monday, October 12, 2020 at Precious Blood Catholic Church, 4961 Salem Avenue, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Father Tim Knepper, Celebrant. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
