Jackie George Combs, age 84 of Washington Township, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019 at Centerville Health & Rehab. He was born February 4, 1935 near Hazard, Kentucky to the late James and Ella Combs.
In addition to his parents, Jackie is preceded in death by his siblings, Jr Combs, Mabel Hamilton and Lucy (Ben) Sweet.
Jackie is survived by his brother, Dealis Combs; nieces, Linda (David) Swartz, Beverly (Terry) Manson and Rhonda Bolin and many friends.
Jackie attended Cornett Hill School in Hazard, KY and resided with his mother until she passed away in the 1970's. He then relocated to the Dayton area to reside with his sister but soon returned to Kentucky to begin a career with the State Highway Department for almost 11 years. Jackie resigned and returned to Ohio to enjoy a simple life with visits to friends on his bike and attending church services.
Family will receive guests from 5:30-7:30 pm Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Newcomer Funeral Home - KETTERING. Graveside services will begin 1:00 pm at Combs Cemetery in Lothair, KY and officiated by Pastor Mike Smith. Memorial contributions may be made to a church of the donor's choice. Special thank to Day City Hospice for the care and support they offered to Jackie and his family.
