Jack Edwin Gran, age 91 of Huber Heights, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020. He was born August 10, 1928 in Beach, North Dakota to the late Jack and Julia Gran.
Jack grew up in Indiana. He was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran and served during the Korean War. He was very dedicated to his church and was a member of the Huber Heights First Baptist Church. He was known as the "Can Man" as he collected aluminum cans on a weekly route for the church. Jack's signature look were his bib overalls with leveling wedge in his pocket.
Jack was always a provider for his family and was thoughtful and helpful towards others, especially his neighbors. Jack always had a happy smile on his face and was able to bring joy to all he encountered with that smile. He will be surely missed by all who loved and knew him.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his siblings, Raymond Gran, Paul Gran, Jack Hogan, Louise Werling, Betty How and Mary Waldon.
Jack will be missed by his loving wife of 71 years, Louise; children, Christy (Ron) Eastepp, Dave (Nelly) Gran and Marla (Tom) Sherry; grandchildren, Patricia Thompson, David Gran, II, Becky Lee, Richard Watkins, Matthew Watkins, Michael Sherry, Mary Edmonds; great-grandchildren, Lisa, Eric, Jessica, Daniel, Alisha, Ashley, Dawson, Aiden, Harper and Elias; one great-great granddaughter Ava; sister, Billie Jean Voors; many nieces and nephews.
Services and burial for Jack will be private. Jack will be interred at Dayton National Cemetery.
