Jack Anderson, born in Gainsboro, TN, passed away on September 22, 2025, in Dayton, OH. Born on March 8, 1952, Jack led a rich life filled with laughter, music, and a bit of lovable ornery spirit that endeared him to everyone who knew him.
A proud retiree from the Ohio Operating Engineering Union, Jack was known for his steadfast work ethic and dedication. After he retired, he transitioned into a life where he could relax and enjoy the things he loved most. His passion for the Cleveland Browns was well-known among his family and friends, and he always had a good joke up his sleeve, ready to share a laugh or lighten the mood in any situation. Jack was always ready for a good nap, and could often be found on the porch reading a book and listening to Bluegrass.
Jack is survived by his children Penney (Joshua) Dull, Kevin (Lori) Forrester, Jim Anderson, and Nik Wood, who will cherish his memory and the lessons he imparted. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren—Max, Mila, Bryce, Vanessa, Chelsea, Jimmy, JD, Sarah, Samantha, Izaak, and Elliot—who will fondly remember their grandpa's spirited personality. He also leaves behind several great-grandchildren, ensuring that his light continues to shine through future generations.
In addition to his immediate family, Jack is survived by his brothers, Jim (Susan) Anderson and Dan (Suzie) Anderson, who shared many cherished memories and countless laughter-filled moments with him.
Jack now joins his cherished parents, Homer and Olene Anderson, and his late son John "Mike" Anderson, as well as his sister, Charlene Stonerock. While he is dearly missed, the love and joy he shared with those around him serve as a comforting reminder of the wonderful man he was.
As we remember Jack, we celebrate a life well-lived, one filled with humor, love, and a passion for the simple pleasures that brought him joy. Rest easy, Jack—your spirit will forever be a part of our lives.
