Irene Gutshall, Age 87, formerly of Middletown, OH, Albany, KY, and San Marcos, TX, passed away on February 19, 2015, at Heartland of Miamisburg.
She was born in Spring City, TN, on April 19, 1926, the youngest child of nine children of William N. and Nellie L. (Collins) Slaton.
She met the love of her life as a young teenager and married Robert A. Gutshall, who preceded her in death. They were married over sixty years. While he worked at Armco Steel, she worked at Liberal Market. Also preceding her in death were her brothers Lewis, Lillard, Grover, and Leonard, along with sisters Roxie Whitacre, Cynthia Deck, Myrtle Rowland, and Grace Scearce. Her son Gerald preceded her in death.
Her surviving children are Paul (Pam), Kenneth (Ann, who passed in 2009), and Dianna (Mark Murphy). Additionally, she is survived by grandchildren Robert, Richard, Amy, Suzanna, and Rachel, along with eight great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Elmcroft Assisted Living, Heartland of Miamisburg, and Hospice of Heartland for their tender and compassionate care.
In the spring, a service will be held.
