Iness "Kitty" Bentley, age 85 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born May 29, 1932 in Hazard, Kentucky; a coalminer's daughter.
She is preceded in death by her parents of Johnny and Dulcie (Noble) Fugate; husband, Beecher Bentley and 6 siblings.
Iness is survived by her sons, Dan (Marilyn) Bentley and Donald Bentley; grandchildren, Sharessa (Robert) Bentley-Crovo, Justin Bentley and Scott (Angela) Marcum; great grandchildren, Kennedy, Kitty, Chloe, Braydon, Taylor and Allie; 5 sisters and numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many friends.
Iness attended school in Lost Creek / Hazard, KY. Iness worked at an early age to support her family by working on a farm and shoring mine walls with timber. Iness moved to Dayton, OH for better job opportunities and began employment at the Purple Cow Diner. She landed a job as a line worker for Inland – GM and worked until she married and started a family. Iness was always working to support family and enjoy life. She was a caring and helpful person especially for her sisters.
Iness was Baptist by faith and was centred in her Christianity. Iness was a wonderful seamstress and made a quilt with her family every year. She enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and enjoying nature whenever she could.
Family will receive guests from 9:30 -10:30 am Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Kettering, OH. Service will immediately follow at 10:30 am also at the funeral home on Thursday. Miami Valley Memory Gardens – Mausoleum, Centerville will serve as Iness's final resting place. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton at 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
