With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Glenn Eugene Burns, 72, of Beavercreek, Ohio, on December 27th. Born on January 9, 1952, in Dayton, Ohio, Glenn was a beacon of strength, resilience, and love. His life was a testament to perseverance and an unwavering commitment to family and community.

Glenn leaves behind a large loving family to celebrate him. One of 5 children to the late Lela and Denver Burns he is survived by his sister Joyce Pahren. He was the devoted husband of Susan Burns of which they spent 26 years together. The proud father of his only son Douglas Clendening and his wife Brandi Clendening. He is also survived by his first daughter Tonya Bishop with her husband Bryan Bishop, and his second daughter Carissa Fawley and her husband Nick Fawley. Glenn also greatly enjoyed being grandfather to all of his grandchildren, Kayla Hagerman, Joshua Hole, Addyson Fawley, Erica Kaple and Miranda Anderson. He even got to meet his great grandchildren, Emma, Nora, Miley and Daniel. In addition, he is survived by his nieces and nephews, Cathy and Matt Walters, Carla and Lane Oatman, Beth Allen and David Lairson, Daryl and Dawn Curnutte & Greg and Ashley Newman-Brown. He loved all of his family deeply, always putting their happiness and well-being at the center of his life.

A machinist for nearly four decades and a skilled automotive mechanic all throughout his life, Glenn possessed an extraordinary talent for understanding and fixing anything mechanical. His work was not just a career but a passion that demonstrated his sharp mind, strong work ethic, and determination to solve problems with precision and care.

Glenn’s resilience was nothing short of heroic. Despite many struggles with his health that eventually led to multiple amputations, Glenn held his head high and shined like a beacon of strength to his family. He bravely combated the challenges of his health and learned to walk again, not once, but twice. His indomitable spirit inspired everyone around him, proving that strength is found not just in what we endure but in how we rise after adversity.

Glenn’s generosity and determination to overcome life’s obstacles continue to serve as a guiding light for his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him. There will be a celebration of Glenn’s life on March 22nd of this year. If you would like to attend or to find the details of this event as they unfold, contact Susan Burns before then.
