Hollis C Criner, Jr. ( 12-26-33 - 2-26-18)
Hollis Criner was an ordinary, imperfect man.
Not famous, wealthy, or particularly good at anything- except loving Jesus and sharing that love at every opportunity. With limited means, he cared for any neighbor he found in need. Whether the need be food, shelter, time or attention. He carried bags of groceries to the elderly and spent countless hours praying with patients and families in hospitals. He was kind and good to so many people around him that most of us would pass by without notice.
Hollis has been described as humble, gracious, kind and yet we all thought of him as just an ordinary man.
To honor his love of Jesus we have chosen not to think of those he leaves behind but rather those souls he has taken with him. Not those whom he survived but those whose lives he made better, through the love of Christ. So that even in his passing his love of Jesus may inspire us to love more and change a few more lives.
On Friday, March 2nd, 2018 at 2:00 We will lay his body to rest at Willow View Cemetery on Wagner Ford Rd. in Northridge. His soul, however, will not be in attendance.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Harmony Baptist Church Youth Group, 121 Ingleside Avenue, Dayton, OH 45404.
