Hobert E. Rice, age 93 of Huber Heights, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018. He was born September 28, 1924 in Elliott County, Kentucky, the son of the late Alfred and Rose Rice.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Ed, Travis and Charlie Rice; sisters, Bernice Adkins and Bea Calvert.
Hobert is survived by his wife of 66 years, Emma; daughter, Marcia (Chuck); son, Russ (Debbie); grandchildren, Shelli (Joe), Randall, Ryan; great grandchildren, Meghan (Joe), Hailey (Garrett), Sarah, Macey, Lillian, Rowan, Erin, Rien; great-great grandchild, Alaina; 1 great-great grandson on the way; sisters, Eleanor Roberts, Betty Jo Stephens; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Hobert was a WWII veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was a Master Mason and Scottish Rite. He was also a member of Huber Heights Church of God and Plumber & Pipefitters Local 162.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 10 am to 12 pm at Huber Heights Church of God (6900 Brandt Pike, Dayton, Ohio 45424). Funeral service will begin at 12 pm. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
