Henry Carl Johnson, age 63 of Riverside, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025. He was born October 2, 1961 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Henry George and Arlene Margaret Johnson.
Henry graduated from Lebanon High School and received his Bachelor’s degree from Wright State University with honors. Never at a loss for words, Henry loved football, especially the Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State Buckeyes, and he rarely missed a Cincinnati Reds baseball game, no matter who they played. Anyone who ate a meal with Henry was guaranteed great food, as he prided himself on his cooking, grilling and smoking skills. Henry was an avid reader of history, especially military and WWII. He always said that one of his favorite jobs was providing courier services: getting important documents, parts, medications to persons in need, and enabling him to drive all around the eastern United States. He was dependable and knew the city of Dayton well, and was the go-to guy for directions.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his aunt, Grace Johnson McKenzie and sister-in-law Lori Johnson.
Henry is survived by his son, Hank (Cynthia) Johnson; granddaughter, Evelyn Johnson; siblings, Jerry Johnson (fiancée Nelia), Walt Johnson and John (Pam) Johnson; cousin, Linda Syguda and many other loving family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul in Henry's honor.
