In Loving Memory of a Beautiful Soul: Heather Marie Elizabeth Orris-DeLong

On Wednesday, April 10th, our hearts were shattered as we said goodbye to a woman whose light shone brightly in our lives. Heather, aged 51, left this earth too soon, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished.

She was a beautiful soul, full of love and life, with a generous spirit that touched all who knew her. Her warmth and compassion were boundless, and she selflessly gave of herself to others in need.

As the mother of six children, Heather poured her heart and soul into nurturing her family. Though two of her children, Austyn (26) and LaRod (18) have passed on before her, her love for them and the remaining children, Arlyssa (29), De'acapone (24), Elise (17), Amia (15) Rodney Jr. (28) and three grandchildren Austyn Jr. (15), Ashtyn (13) Adden (8), knew no bounds. Her love and guidance will forever remain in their hearts, a beacon of strength and comfort in times of need.

Born the oldest of five children, Heather was a loving sister and a pillar of support for her mother, Mary Orris-Delong and siblings Josh, Misty, Casey and Raven and their children,her beloved nieces and nephews, Jachelle,Mylek,Montez,Mikko,Memphis,Elisia,Haylie,Camden and Jordy.
Heather and Rodney Lowe even though no longer together share the three younger children and remain close to the others, shared a commitment to raising them with love and care in mutual dedication to their children's well-being.

She touched the lives of many with her infectious laughter, her unwavering love, and her genuine kindness. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her, a testament to the beauty of her soul and the depth of her love.

As we mourn the loss of a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, let us also celebrate the life of Heather, a remarkable woman who graced this world with her presence. May her spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts, guiding us with her love and light until we meet again.

Rest in peace, dear Heather. You will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for all eternity.

A visitation for both Heather and her son, LaRod, will be held from 10:30am to 11:30am on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Living Word Church, 926 E National Road, in Vandalia, where the funeral service will begin at 11:30am. Following the service, they will both be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.
