Hazel Wood

Hazel Wood, age 76 of West Carrollton, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 28, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 16, 1944 in Carbondale, Ohio to the late Rev. Earl and Wilma Wachenschwanz.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her, sister, Sharon McClaskey and brother, David E. Wachenschwanz.

Hazel is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Charles "Chuck" Wood; son, Marc (Pam) Wood; daughter, Diane Wood; three grandchildren, brother-in-law, David McClaskey; two nephews, David (Gina) McClaskey, Tom (Teresa) McClaskey; niece, Kimberly (Gary) Mullen; her beloved Yorksire Terrier, Toby. She is also survived by numerous family and friends.

Hazel was a member of West Carrollton Nazarene for 40 years and was an active member of the choir. She was president of the ladies ministry for many years and volunteered heavily in other ministries of the church. She also enjoyed babysitting, cooking, making quilts, and going to Disney World. Hazel most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is well loved and will be missed dearly by all those who knew her.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on February 1, 2021 at West Carrollton Church of the Nazarene located at 550 South Elm St., West Carrollton, Ohio 45449. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 pm on January 31, 2021 and also on February 1, 2021 from 10:00 - 11:00 am.
