Hazel Lee Robinson Lawter

Hazel Lee Robinson Lawter of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton June 29, 2025. Hazel was born in Pelzer, SC, one of four children born to the late Joseph and Pauline Robinson December 3, 1930.

Hazel was a faithful follower and loyal member of Covenant Baptist Church in Englewood, OH for over 50 years. She enjoyed tending to her garden of vegetables and flowers. Hazel loved sharing the fruits of her labor, as well as putting others needs above her own.

Hazel was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She patiently continued in her faith awaiting the day she would be rejoined with family who passed before her-especially her beloved husband, Leonard O. Lawter who preceded her in death in 2004.

Hazel is survived by her three children, Teresa Lawter, of Huber Heights, OH, Giannina (Mike) Blicha, of Shawnee, KS, and Andy (Julie) Lawter, of Blanchester, OH; four grandchildren, Caitlynn Blicha-Hoelting, of Kansas City, MO, Jonathan (Tami) Blicha, of Olathe, KS, Ashley Cook (Sunshine), of Centerville, OH, and Joseph Lawter, of Blanchester, OH; four great-grandchildren, Zachary Hoelting, Lakoby Brown, Kadyn and Avery Blicha.

Hazel was a survivor of the Great Depression beginning work in the cotton mills in South Carolina and finally ending her work career at Precision Rubber Products INC in Dayton, Ohio after choosing to be a homemaker and full-time mother. The world was blessed to have her in it for 94 + years. She will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her years of wisdom will be missed by all. Rest in Heavenly peace.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 11:30am-1pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. The service will follow at 1pm. Hazel will be laid to rest next to her husband at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City, OH. Family and friends are encouraged to dress comfortably for the weather.
