Hazel Mae Drake

Hazel Mae Drake, age 101, of Xenia, passed away June 1, 2026. Hazel was born in Xenia, Ohio on October 8, 1924 to the late Floyd and Leila Weaver.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester Drake; as well as her daughter, Diane Stephenson.

She is survived by sons, Steve (Jill) Drake and Scott (Cindy) Drake; grandchildren, Brian Stephenson, Corey Stephenson, Shane (Anita) Drake, Adam Drake, Amber (Josh) Morrow and Zach (Jamie) Drake; 16 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Hazel retired from Xenia City Schools. She was a member of Eleazer Church for many years.

In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, camping, gambling, cooking and spending time with her family.

Hazel was kind, sweet, patient, caring and understanding.

Donations may be made in Hazel's memory to Eleazer Church (1765 E Spring Valley Paintersville Rd, Xenia).

Visitation will be held from 11:30am-1:00pm on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek), where funeral services will begin at 1:00pm.

Hazel will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery in Xenia following the service.
