Harold E. Evans, Jr.

Harold E. "Butch" Evans, Jr., age 76 of Dayton, passed away April 9, 2017. He was born January 13, 1941 in Dayton to the late Harold E. and Lucille E. Evans. In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Vaughn.

Butch is survived by his daughter, Yvonne; son, Aaron (Kathy); grandchildren: Robert, Ryan and Jacqueline; great-grandson, Alex; sisters: Susan Phillips and Judy (Larry) Williams; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including special friend, Debbie, who helped care for him.

Butch was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps; retired from General Motors after many years of service; was a member of the VFW, Amvets, Moose Lodge, Masonic Lodge and many other organizations; and attended the Fairborn Bridge Community Worship Center.

Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 pm on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Butch's memory to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
