Harold J. Campbell

1938 – 2026

Harold Joe Campbell, age 87, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, at Hospice of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Rose (Evans) Campbell, who passed away on November 17, 2025; his parents, Granville P. and Sally Ann Campbell; and his siblings, Bill, Charles, Hobert, Ada, Bertha, and Helen.

Harold is survived by his sons, Ricky Campbell (and his wife, Mary) and Steven Campbell (and his wife, Andrea), and his grandchildren, Lukas Campbell (and his wife, Sarah), Samantha Campbell (and her partner, Paul), and Carsyn Campbell. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Harold proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he built a long career with Dayton Press Publishing Company, where he worked until his retirement. In 1996, Harold and Rose moved to Pensacola, Florida, where they enjoyed many years together.

Harold loved spending time outdoors and had a passion for sports, especially fishing, boating, and basketball. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family.

A man of faith, Harold took comfort in his relationship with his Heavenly Father.

He will be remembered for his steady presence, love of family, and enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures.

Reunited with his beloved Rose, their legacy of love, faith, and family will live on through those they leave behind.
