Gregory Alan "Greg" Johnston

Gregory Alan "Greg" Johnston, age 72, of Dayton, passed away unexpectedly on May 21, 2026. Greg was born in Syracuse, New York on January 10, 1954 to the late George and Myrtle Johnston.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bryant Michael Evans and his daughter, Stephanie Marie Clark.

He is survived by wife, Joan Johnston; sons, Alan (Englysh) Johnston and Alex Winkler; grandchildren, Alexis, Chris Jr. and Katelyn; as well as his siblings, Nathalie, Jeffrey and Candace.

He was a member of the VFW Post 9927 for many years. Greg was also a Navy veteran.

In his free time, he enjoyed watching Westerns, collecting movies and memorabilia, reading, cuddling with his cats, going to church and spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Greg was a hard worker. He was stubborn, funny and loved his family deeply.

Visitation will be held from 2:00pm-3:00pm on Thursday, May 28, 206 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek), where funeral services will begin at 3:00pm.
