Gregory Brian Blackmore, age 67 of Riverside, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2026. He was born November 19, 1958 the son of the late J. Gordon and Harriett Blackmore.
A graduate of Kettering High School, Greg served his country with pride in the United States Army and aided as a firefighter. Following his service, he founded AGB Mechanical, where he applied his meticulous skills in HVAC repair, plumbing, and electrical work. Greg was a visionary with a passion for researching, tinkering and building, admired for his intelligence, dedication, and sharp sense of humor. He could fix or repair anything he set his mind to. He generously shared his knowledge with others and was known for his big heart and respect for family and nature, especially his love for honey bees and animals. Greg cherished his dogs—Lucky, Maggie, Buddy, Tigger, Sam, Tiggie, Roxie, Roscoe, and Bear—as well as his bunny, Bugs.
Greg is survived by his partner, Debbie Ashbaugh; son, Adam (Samantha MacArthur) Blackmore; step-daughter, Christina Ashbaugh; step-son, Jason (Angel Wolford) Ashbaugh; step-daughter, Alicia (Sam Jenkins) Ashbaugh; step-daughter, Amber Ashbaugh; grandchildren, Destiny Coon, Kayley Shampton-Ashbaugh, Luke Shampton, Troy Ashbaugh, Tristan Ashbaugh, Kelsea Jenkins, Brenden Wright and Jack Wyen; great grandchildren, Ryder, Lainey, Oaklynn Fae, River, and Opal, who is on the way.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Crossroads Church in Dayton or the Montgomery/Greene County Humane Society in Greg's honor.
Visitation will be Monday, October 12, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Funeral home. Greg will be laid to rest at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens following the service.
