Graydon Archer, 72, passed away on October 15, 2026. Born on Christmas Eve in 1953 to Clarence and Amber Archer, Graydon grew up in Mapleton, Maine. In 1977, he married Mary (Spitzer) Archer, and they raised three children together.
Graydon was a hardworking man who retired from Xenia Foundry after 23 years. But more than anything, he was a storyteller. He loved good conversation, a good joke, and making people laugh. Friendly and quick-witted, Graydon never met a stranger. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Graydon had a lifelong love of creating. Whether painting, drawing, wood burning, or carving, he was happiest making something with his hands or bringing an idea to life. He also enjoyed writing poetry, composing original music, and telling stories, and was proud to have published two books.
He loved the outdoors and always looked forward to spring. His favorite pastimes included tending his flower beds, walking through the woods, photographing nature, fishing, and hunting.
Graydon is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Kristi (Michael Baire, Jr.), Jamie, and Ian; his grandchildren, Aidan and Amaya; his sister, Kathleen; his mother-in-law, Aileen; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Amber Archer; his brothers, Alan and Gregory; and his sister, Sheila.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026 from 2:00pm-3:00pm, with a memorial service being held at 3:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek).
