Gloria Jean Tackett, née Kiser, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, in Beavercreek, having lived a life marked by devotion, love, and steadfast faith. Born on October 22, 1945, in Kentucky, Gloria’s life was rooted in her strong family bonds and unyielding Christian faith.
From her earliest days, Gloria embodied kindness and commitment. On March 15, 1965, she married her beloved husband, Ermal Ray Tackett, beginning a remarkable partnership that would sustain and uplift them for more than sixty years. Together, they built a life grounded in love and shared faith, raising a family whose closeness stands as a testament to the values they cherished.
Gloria held a deep connection to her community and church. She was a devoted Christian and a proud member of Old Pathway Pentecostal Church since 2000. Her unwavering commitment to her faith shaped her outlook and guided her in both ordinary and extraordinary moments, providing inspiration to all who knew her.
Family was always at the heart of Gloria’s world. She is survived by her loving husband, Ermal Ray Tackett; her daughter, Deborah Davis; her grandson, Charles "Chuck" Davis; her great-granddaughter, Chloe Davis; as well as her dear sisters, Bonnie Evans and Barbara Evans, and her brothers, Virgil Kiser and Sammy Kiser. Gloria’s influence extends far beyond her immediate family, her warmth resonating throughout their lives.
She is also tenderly remembered by those who have preceded her in death: her parents, Allie and Rosa Kiser; her sister, Drema Blevins; sister, Madeline Moore; brother, Charles Kiser; her grandson, Kyle Ray Davis; and her son-in-law, Charles Davis, Sr. Their memories remain a cherished part of her story.
Gloria’s legacy is one of love, faith, and compassion. The example she set—in her steadfast dedication to family and her spiritual community—will continue to guide those who loved her.
A funeral service honoring Gloria's life will held at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel (4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, OH) on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 1:30pm. A visitation will be held for one hour prior, 12:30pm to 1:30pm. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but she will be fondly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts and lives of all who knew her.
