Gloria J. Herbert

Gloria J. Herbert, a cherished matriarch of her family, passed away on August 10, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on November 27, 1939, in Raysal, West Virginia, Gloria's journey through life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her family and her deep devotion to those she loved.

Professionally, Gloria made her mark as a talented cosmetologist, owning her own salon in the heart of Centerville. With great pride in her artistry and a keen sense of customer care, she became known not only for her skills but for the warmth she extended to all her clients. Her salon was a place of transformation and connection, where many came not just for a haircut but for the genuine compassion that radiated from her.

Gloria's vibrant personality found expression in her garden, where she reveled in the beauty of planting and nurturing an array of flowers. This passion for gardening was more than a hobby; it reflected her approach to life—tending to relationships with the same love and attention she lavished on every bloom.

In her earlier years, Gloria showcased her artistic talents alongside her sister Loretta on a popular radio program called "Country Hayride" back in West Virginia. An ardent fan of country music, she embraced the joy of melody and even learned to play the guitar, skillfully strumming tunes that were close to her heart.

Family was Gloria's most profound source of love and pride. She gathered her loved ones around her, weaving a tapestry of memories that will forever remain in their hearts. Her legacy is carried on by her granddaughter, Brittany (Brian) Haley; her great-grandchildren, Tanner and Harper Haley; her brothers, Larry (Cindy) and Ronnie (Eva Dee) Domi; and her sisters-in-law, Linda, Ann, and Christina. Moreover, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends were enriched by her spirit and grace.

Gloria was preceded in death by a constellation of dear ones who she held close: her parents Amedeo and Mary Domi; her beloved husband Sonny Herbert; her sons Steve Herbert and Randy Herbert; her brothers, Sonny Boy, Jerry, Gary, Doug, Jim, and Junior Domi; and her sister Loretta Agnor. Each of these individuals contributed to the rich narrative of her life, and their memories continue to illuminate the path of those she leaves behind.
