Gloria Jean Grooms

Gloria Grooms, 80, of Dayton died under Hospice care Monday, March 9, 2026.

Gloria was born to Anthony and Janelle (Muth) Schoenfelder on August 14, 1945 in South Dakota as one of eleven children. Gloria was a stay at home mom and grandma. Gloria had a great love for St. Jude, bowling, fishing, puzzles, game shows, and classic t.v shows. She loved to watch the birds and squirrels in the yard.

She is survived by her long time love, Rodger Hedrick; daughter, Melissa (Lynn) Pitsinger and son Levi Cox; grandchildren, Kristen and Joshua Pitsinger and Gracie Cox; great grandchildren, Nick Pitsinger and Ridley Pitsinger; as well as several siblings.

She is proceeded in death by parents, Anthony "Jim" and Janelle; several siblings and husband, Allen Cox.

No funeral proceedings. The family asks in lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice or St. Jude's.
