Glenn W. Layman

Glenn W. Layman, age 91, of Miamisburg, Ohio passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on September 13, 2026. He was born on April 25th, 1935, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania. He as the son of the late Harry Layman and Janie (Walker) Layman.

Glenn was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He had many accomplishments over the course of his lifetime and made many friends along the way.

He served as a medic for 4 years in the United States Air Force. During his time at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, he took a room at a local boarding house where he would meet his future wife, Veona (Vee) Back. After being discharged from the Air Force in May of 1956, Glenn served as a business partner for several companies before deciding to start his own business, Plas-Tix USA Inc. in 1968. Glenn continued Plas-tix USA for the next 50 years, where he fostered partnerships with the community and business leaders alike.

Glenn was an avid golfer, fisherman, bowler, hunter, race car driver, and airplane pilot. In addition to his parents, the late Harry Layman and Janie (Walker) Layman, Glenn was preceded in death by his siblings, James, Harry Jr, Earl, Clyde and Mildred.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Veona (Vee) Layman; children, Gregg and Tammy Layman, Gary Layman, Rodney and Teresa Layman; 8 grandchildren, Jeff & Angie Layman, Melissa Layman, Dean and Katrina Layman, Brittney and Brian Dopel, Melinda Kemper, Stephanie and Shaun Burchfield, Lisa and Justin Silvers, Cooper Layman and fiancé Constance Miller; 17 great grandchildren, Austin, Colin, Evan, Taylor, Aubree, Deja, Isaiah, Daimen, Xavier Layman, Ceanna Baker, Cecilia Kemper, Corbin Layman, Logan and Elena Rodriguez, Jayden, Madalynn, and Lillian Silvers; 9 great, great grandchildren, as well as numerous family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm with Glenn's service starting at 1:00pm on Friday, September 25, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Follow the service, Glenn will be laid to rest with military honors at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
