Gleneva "Penny" Cosby

Gleneva "Penny" Cosby, age 77 of Trotwood, Ohio passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 19, 2026 at her residence. She was born August 23, 1948 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The daughter of the late Willie James Williams and Inell Williams.

Penny was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a Jefferson High School graduate class of 1967. She retired after twenty nine and a half years of service at Emery Worldwide. She was a faithful member of Mount Olivet Church of God in Christ in Dayton, Ohio. She had a passion for singing in which she sang in the church choir as well as baking for the church. Penny is going to be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, Penny was preceded in death by her sisters, Willa Woodson (Thomas Woodson) and Barbara Caldwell (Bennie Caldwell).

She is survived by her children, Lareva Cosby (Vincent Beard), Leonard Cosby, and Larry Cosby; grandchildren, Sheneva Cosby, Emanuel Beard, and Leonard (Michelle) Cosby II; great grandsons, Leonard Cosby III and Tevin Cosby; a host of nieces, nephews, and church family; special friend Dorothy Beard; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 12 noon to 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Elder Terry Holt doing clergy Missionary Bettye Tatman and Missionary Julia Baker Singing. Burial will follow for a graveside service at Jefferson View Cemetery.
