Glen E. Green, a cherished member of the community and Army Veteran of the Korean War, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on June 12, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio. Born on September 16, 1925, in Rinnie, Tennessee, Glen’s life spanned over a century filled with love, dedication, and an enduring commitment to family.
Glen was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joseph E. and Della M. (Norris) Green. He also mourns the loss of his devoted wife of 55 years, Genevieve (Wilson) Green, whose partnership was a cornerstone throughout his journey. Glen was further joined in the afterlife by siblings Casto Green, Holland Lee Green, Bernard Green, Louella Smith, and his granddaughter, Jennifer McPherson, all of whom held special places in his heart.
He is survived by his loving children: Michael (Laura) Green, Cristina (Jenna) Green, Shela Roberts, and Eddie (Theresa) Green, who carry forward his legacy of kindness and strength. Glen’s joy extended to his grandchildren Mason (Alexa) Green, Everett Green, Addison Bivins, Eli Bivins, Danielle (Scott) Ward, Darci (Adam) Hodges, Tony (Michelle) Green, and Craig (Jill) Green. His pride extended even more by many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear siblings Celila Holton, Joel (Odetta) Green, and Lola Sells, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who fondly remember his generous spirit.
The family will receive friends and loved ones for a visitation on June 19, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, Ohio. A funeral service will follow on the same day, beginning at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Glen E. Green’s remarkable life was marked by steadfast dedication to his family and community, and he leaves behind a legacy of deep affection, respect, and treasured memories, cherished by countless friends for whom he would have done anything. His presence will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
