Gerald L. Gentry, age 69, passed away in Dayton, Ohio on March 1, 2015. He was born to the late Joe and Margaret Gentry (Dawson) on October 7, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Gerald graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1965 then went on to join The United States Navy where he became a hospital corpsman. During his time in the Navy he was borrowed by The United States Marine Corps where he went on to serve in the Vietnam War. Upon returning from Vietnam he met and married Jeannie R. Hart. He is survived by two daughters Kelly Simpson and Lesley Adkins; two grandchildren Marissa Adkins and Hunter Simpson; and a brother Dale (Shirley) Gentry. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents. He loved spending time with his friends and family at the Fairborn AMVETS 444 and Fairborn Legion. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and playing the guitar. His smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
