Gerald (Gary) Eugene Goodman passed away at his home on April 9, 2016. Gary was born on February 6, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Goodman and Thelma D. Goodman; sisters, Janet Carol Pinkney and Vivian Faye Snyder; and Brother Robert Lee Goodman Jr. Gary is survived by sisters: Betty Ann Goodman Person (Don), Jamestown, OH, and Brenda D Goodman, West Carrollton, Ohio, and brothers: Kenneth E. Goodman, Albany, Kentucky and Bruce D. Goodman (Karin), Kettering, Ohio. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Gary was a lifelong resident of Dayton and a graduate of Belmont High School and Sinclair community College. Throughout his life, Gary had been an avid golfer and enthusiastic sports fan. He was among the ranks of golfers who achieved a hole-in-one. Many old friends knew Gary as "Benny" or even "The Blade." He was happiest at the horse races or a Cincinnati Reds ball game.
A memorial service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio, on Monday, April 18, 2016 with visitation at 5 p.m. and the memorial service at 6 p.m., followed by a celebration of Gary's life at Belmont Billiards, 820 Watervliet Avenue, Dayton, Ohio.
