Listen to Obituary

Georgia Carolyn Wellman, age 92, passed from this life into glory on July 15, 2026, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Georgia was born in Sand Springs, Tennessee, the youngest daughter of the late Nathaniel and Cora Welch. In addition to her parents, Georgia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert D. "Bobby" Wellman, and her sisters Bonnie, Dell, Robbie, and Lou.

Georgia is survived by her precious son, Phillip Michael Parish (Kathie), and four grandchildren: Andrew (LesLee), Mark (Jenn), Ben (Paige), and Lauren Parish. She was also blessed with 9 great-grandchildren: Evan, Ryan, Colton, Anderson, Mallory, Reid, BW, Elijah, and Oliver, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Georgia grew up in Sand Springs and loved talking about her country roots and family. She moved to Dayton, Ohio, in her late teens and stayed there until she retired from General Motors. She and Bobby spent their early retirement years in Florida before returning to Ohio to be closer to family.

Georgia loved God, her family, and the four-legged friends in her life. A favorite recent pastime was sitting in the sunshine on the front porch, listening to and singing along with gospel music, with a few rock and roll selections mixed in. She was an active member of New Day Church in Kettering, Ohio, and loved participating in Sunday mornings for many years. She missed being able to attend church as her health declined.

As her family, we rejoice in God's promise found in Revelation 21:4, which says, "He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever."

Arrangements have been entrusted to JC Kirby Funeral Home in Bowling Green, KY, and Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek, OH.
