George N. Wright, age 93 of Dayton, OH passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 with his family by side. He was born on August 27, 1926 in Lebanon, Kentucky to Henry and Katharine (Sansbury) Wright. George married Alice Westgerdes on June 27, 1953 in Dayton, OH.
George was an avid shooter, hunter and marksman. He loved black powder muzzle loaders, was a member of the Simon Kenton Gun Club and Knights of Columbus. George worked as a Journeyman Electrician for NCR and was a member of the Dayton Liederkranz-Turner singing society. He was a family man who loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
George is survived by his three daughters, Genevieve (Cliff) Brust, Gretchen (Ed) Mulholland, Jeanette (Ed) Patrick; and a son, Gerald (Julie) Wright; eight grandchildren, Nicholas Wright, Andrew, Aaron and Katharine Patrick, Robert and Matthew Mulholland and Albert and Georgia Brust; brothers, Irvin Wright and William Wright; and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Alice; his parents; and two sisters, Dorothy Jean Wadsworth and Theresa Kempf.
A private Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at Emmanuel Catholic Church, Dayton, OH at the convenience of the family. He will be laid to rest beside his wife Alice at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Emmanuel Catholic Church, 149 Franklin Street, Dayton, OH 45402.
