George E. Thompson entered his eternal home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a long and faithful life of service, love, and devotion. Born in Kokomo, Indiana, to George and Thelma Thompson, George lived a life marked by deep faith, steadfast commitment, and joyful ministry.

He graduated from Purdue University in 1954 with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and began his professional career with the Allison Engine Division of General Motors. Following two years of active duty as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, George continued his service as a civilian aerospace engineer at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for 35 years. His work in advanced propulsion technology contributed to the nation's aeronautical progress, and upon retirement, he was honored with the Outstanding Civilian Career Service Award.

George's career, however, was just one reflection of his diligent spirit— the greater mark of his life was his unwavering commitment to Christ and the Church. For over 60 years, George served faithfully in ministry. He was a dedicated member of Fairborn United Methodist Church for 27 years, where he taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, served as a youth counselor, and was active on the Council of Ministries.

In 1985, George and his wife were led by the Holy Spirit to Bethel Christian Assembly of God, a church that not only believes God's Word is the absolute truth, but teaches and preaches it as such. For the next four decades, he served as a Deacon for 20 years, Board Secretary for 16 years, and Elder for 12 years. He led prayer groups, taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, participated in drama ministries, and ministered in nursing homes. George also volunteered as a tutor for youth at a local community center and helped lead special church celebrations. His life radiated a servant's heart, filled with humility and a desire to glorify God in all things.

At the heart of George's ministry was his love for people and his passion for sharing the gospel. Even during his years at Wright-Patterson, he led a weekly Bible study that continued long after his retirement— testimony to his steady witness and love for God's Word.

George was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy (Houston), to whom he was married for 44 years. Together they shared a deep and enduring partnership, even opening their home as a Christian bed and breakfast ministry after retirement. Nancy went home to the Lord in 2002 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Winburn.

In 2007, George married Marjorie (Fredrickson), with whom he shared his later years of companionship and faith.

He is survived by his beloved children: Mark Thompson (Lisa) and Suzanne Meredith (Dr. Craig Meredith); his grandchildren Michael Meredith and Megan Price (Kyle); great-grandchildren Weston and Emery Price; and brother Karl Thompson (Karen). George's family continues to live out the faith he so deeply instilled in them, each serving the Lord in their own ministries and vocations.

George's life was a living testimony of Micah 6:8 — "He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God."

His legacy of faith, service, and steadfast devotion will continue to shine through the many lives he touched.
