George R. Humerick, passed away on December 20, 2025, at the age of 94, in his place of birth, Dayton, Ohio. Born on May 1, 1931, George led a life marked by kindness and humor.
George had a fruitful career in sales, serving as an inside sales representative for over 30 years at Dayton Supply and Tool Company. His work was characterized by a strong commitment to his customers and colleagues, earning him respect and admiration in the industry.
Beyond his professional endeavors, George was a devoted family man who created cherished memories with his loved ones. Many summers were spent at Rocky Fork Lake in Hillsboro, Ohio, enjoying the tranquility of nature while boating, waterskiing, and fishing with his family. Those who knew George fondly remember his great sense of humor, especially his knack for making up and telling dad jokes that brought laughter to all around him.
Educated at Stivers High School, George graduated in 1949 and furthered his education at Dayton Bible College, where he became an ordained minister. This foundation supported his faith and character throughout his life, influencing those around him.
George’s interests extended to playing Bingo and Euchre, as well as watching tennis. His spirit was that of a gentle and kind individual, always ready to share a laugh and engage with his community.
George is survived by his children, George R. (Gail) Humerick, Jr., Karen Lewis, and Vicki (Dana) Weaver; grandchildren, Wendy (Robert) Parker, Adam Lewis, Meredith (Isaac) Mannier, Dean Weaver, and Carleigh Weaver; great-grandchildren, Emily (Collin) Watson, Keith Parker, Savannah, Sawyer, and Hudson Mannier, and Brookley Kate and Brady Lewis; and great-great-granddaughter, Olivia Watson. He is remembered with love by numerous extended family and friends.
George was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley (Harshman) Humerick, with whom he shared 65 wonderful years, his parents, Edward and Mary (Bridges) Humerick, and son-in-law, Doug Lewis.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering. Family and friends may visit from 11:00AM until the time of service. George will be laid to rest with his beloved wife at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to a charity of your choice in memory of George.
