George R. Gohagan, Jr. age 84 of Trotwood , Ohio passed from this life on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Grandview Hospital. He was born October 10, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late George Sr. and Millie Gohagan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Filton and Carl Gohagan.
George was a devoted husband and father and touched the lives of many. George was a father figure to many in the community.
George served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was Honorably discharged. George was an Electrical Engineer who retired from WPAFB on January 1, 1995. One of his proudest accomplishments was that he was one of the lead engineers on the Stealth Program.
He was an avid bowler, mentor and coach for many years. He also enjoyed puzzles and brain teasers. He often had a stern look but a witty sense of humor. He was a friend of Bill W. for 53 years and sponsored many people and helped them on their road to sobriety.
He leaves to cherish his wife, Lynn Gohagan; children, Wallace Talley, Michael Talley, Virgil Talley, Carmella (Marion) Johnson, Carl (Shamica) Kennebrew, George R. III (Beverly) Gohagan, Scott (Stephanie) Kilgore, Willie (Charmaine) Long; grandchildren, Wallace Talley III, Levit Hardy, Carlos Norman, Henry James Johnson, Carmella L. Johnson, Shamari Kennebrew, Jevon Knight, Jaden Knight, Brianna Gohagan, Mychaellynn Lovett Kilgore, KaLyn Kilgore, JayVen Kilgore, Scott Kilgore II and Erionne Long. He also leaves to cherish a host of family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424.
